About the event

An art, sound and video installation by Sounding Situations emerging from the music theatre production Wagner Weltweit, previously presented at Kampnagel in Hamburg and at the Tischlerei of Deutsche Oper Berlin. Part of the trilogy Distant Resonances, the work explores how Wagner’s music has been used, appropriated and charged with political meaning across different historical and ideological contexts.

With this project Sounding Situations creates a multi-perspective music theatre about the activities of the Russian mercenary group ‘Wagner’ as a musical cinemascope. Tik-Tok mythologies and Discord legends meet an uncertain present. Together with the instrumentalists, a multi-layered and heterogeneous live composition is created.
